Polling stations on June 5th

The public voting on the merger of municipalities Blönduósbær, Húnavatnshreppur, Skagabyggð and Sveitarfélagið Skagaströnd is on Saturday, June 5th, 2021.

Who can vote?

Icelandic citizens who are domiciled in either municipality and have reached the age of 18 on election day.

Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish citizens who have been domiciled in Iceland for 3 consecutive years before election day have the right to vote.

Other foreign nationals who have been domiciled in Iceland for 5 consecutive years before election day have the right to vote.

The register of electors is available for public inspection at the offices of the municipal council.

Individuals can also see if they are registered at the National register online.

Polling day, June 5th:

  • The polling station in Blönduós will be in the north end of Sports hall and is open from 10 – 22.
  • The polling station in Sveitarfélagið Skagaströnd will be in Fellsborg and is open from 10 – 22.
  • The polling station in Húnavatnshreppur will be in Húnavellir and is open from 11 – 19.
  • The polling station in Skagabyggð will be in Skagabúð and is open from 12 – 17.

Remember to bring your ID with you.
