The public voting on the merger of municipalities Blönduósbær, Húnavatnshreppur, Skagabyggð and Sveitarfélagið Skagaströnd is on Saturday, June 5th, 2021.
Who can vote?
Icelandic citizens who are domiciled in either municipality and have reached the age of 18 on election day.
Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish citizens who have been domiciled in Iceland for 3 consecutive years before election day have the right to vote.
Other foreign nationals who have been domiciled in Iceland for 5 consecutive years before election day have the right to vote.
The register of electors is available for public inspection at the offices of the municipal council.
Individuals can also see if they are registered at the National register online.
